3D프린터란?
- 3D프린터는 말 그대로 컴퓨터 디자인 프로그램으로 만든 3차원 도면을 바탕으로 실물의 입체적인 3차원 물체를 찍어내는 기계.
- 어떤 제품이든, 아이디어든 설계도만 있으면 플라스틱, 고무, 금속, 세라믹 등 150여 개 소재로 실물을 만들 수 있으며 초기에 플라스틱으로 국한됐던 소재는 나일론, 금속 등으로 확장되고 있고 출력 부품도 시계, 신발, 자동차 부속품을 넘어 계속 발전 중.

3D프린터 핵심기술별 특징
① 압출 적층방식 (FDM)
- 얇은 실(필라멘트) 형태의 열가소성 물질을 노즐안에서 녹여 박막필름 형태로 출력하는 방식.
- 장비와 유지보수 비용이 저렴.
- 세부형상 구현이 미흡하고 제작속도가 느린편이다.
② 선택적 레이저 소결 조형 방식(SLS)
- 파우더에 선택적으로 레이저를 조사하고 파우더를 도포하는 공정을 반복하는 형식.
- 다양한 분야에 응용 및 활용 재료로 조형속도가 빠르다.
- 레이저 장비와 같은 고가부품에 사용.
③ 광경화 수지 조형방식(SLA)
- 액체 광경화성 수지가 담긴 수조안에 저전력, 고밀도의 UV레이저를 투사해 경화시키는 방식.
- 정밀도가 높으나 사용가능한 원료와 색상이 제한적이다.
④ 마스크투영 이미지 경화 방식(DLP)
- 액체 광경화성 수지에 조형하고자하는 모양의 빛을 DLP로 투사해 적층.
- 면단위 조형방식으로 작업속도가 빠르다. 하지만 조형물 사이즈가 작고 원료선택이 제한적이다.
